Terms, Delivery & Refund Policy

At The Cupcake Delivers, every order is baked fresh and prepared especially for you. From mixing batter and dipping treats to decorating, packaging, and coordinating delivery routes across Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, there is a lot of behind-the-scenes magic that goes into each order. Placing an order reserves kitchen time, ingredients, and delivery scheduling. The policies below help ensure every customer receives the same great experience.

Because our treats are fresh, perishable, and often custom-prepared, we do not offer cancellations or monetary refunds once an order has been placed. Depending on the individual situation order postponement may be possible.

Store Credit

If there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery so we can review the concern.

When appropriate, store credit may be issued toward a future order. Store credit is the only form of refund available.

To help us understand what happened, we may request a photo of the product and packaging.

Order Changes & Cancellations

Because orders are prepared in advance and kitchen time is reserved, orders cannot be canceled for a monetary refund once they are placed.

In some situations, depending on preparation status, store credit may be offered at our discretion.

Holiday & Seasonal Orders

Holiday deliveries are some of our busiest (and sweetest!) days of the year. Because these orders require advance ingredient purchasing and reserved baking time, holiday orders cannot be canceled once placed. Store credit may be offered at our discretion depending on preparation status.

Delivery Information

Please double-check that the delivery address, recipient name, phone number, and delivery instructions are correct when placing your order.

Please include all pertinent delivery details such as door codes, security access, or building instructions.

If we cannot access a building to complete a delivery, we will attempt to contact the recipient and the sender. If we cannot quickly obtain the information needed, the driver will continue the route and a second delivery attempt will be scheduled on the next available delivery day. A redelivery fee will apply.

If a delivery cannot be completed due to an incorrect address, unavailable recipient, restricted building access, or incorrect contact information, we will attempt to reach the recipient.

Recipient Availability

We do not require a signature at delivery. Please ensure the recipient is available to receive their gift.

If no one is available, the driver may attempt to leave the delivery with a concierge, office, receptionist, or neighbor.

If that is not possible, the order may be left at the delivery location. We will attempt to notify the sender or recipient that the delivery has been completed.

Once the delivery has been made, The Cupcake Delivers cannot be responsible for products once they are out of our possession.

Delivery Fees

Local delivery starts at $5.99 and increases based on distance. Delivery fees are automatically calculated at checkout once the recipient address is entered.

The minimum order for delivery is $30.00.

Delivery Timing

Deliveries are typically made Monday through Saturday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays.

While we carefully plan delivery routes, Northern Virginia and Washington DC traffic can be unpredictable. Traffic conditions, weather, accidents, building security procedures, and other unforeseen circumstances can affect delivery timing.

For this reason, specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed unless arranged in advance.

If you require delivery by a specific time, please contact us before placing your order to confirm availability.

Weather & Safety Delays

In the event of severe weather such as ice, snow, or unsafe road conditions, we will contact customers scheduled for delivery and arrange to move the delivery to the next available safe delivery day.

The safety of our drivers always comes first.

Warm Weather & Perishable Treats

Our cupcakes, chocolates, and treats are made with fresh ingredients (including lots of buttercream!), which means they can be sensitive to heat and outdoor conditions.

During warmer months, please ensure someone is available to receive the delivery promptly.

Once an order has been successfully delivered, The Cupcake Delivers cannot be responsible for products left outside, exposed to heat, or not promptly retrieved by the recipient.

Product Appearance

All of our treats are handmade and freshly decorated, which means each order may vary slightly from photos shown on our website or marketing materials.

Decorations, sprinkle blends, packaging, balloon shades, and seasonal elements may occasionally vary based on availability, but the overall theme, style, and quality will always remain the same.

If a specific decoration or item becomes unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute with a similar item of equal or greater value.

Allergies & Ingredients

We are not an allergy-free kitchen.

Some of our products contain nuts, and we are not a nut-free facility. While we use good manufacturing processes to keep products separate, cross-contamination is always possible.

If you have food allergies, please contact us before ordering with any ingredient questions. Customers with severe allergies are advised not to consume our products.

Deliveries to Offices, Schools & Hospitals

When delivering to offices, hospitals, schools, or other secured buildings, the recipient is responsible for ensuring deliveries are permitted and someone is available to receive the order.

Due to security procedures or reception protocols, delivery timing may vary.

Once an order has been accepted by a front desk, concierge, receptionist, or other designated individual, The Cupcake Delivers is not responsible for the product afterward.

Weddings & Large Events

For weddings and large events, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your event date.

The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the scheduled event. Unpaid balances past 30 days may result in cancellation.

Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy.

We do not store personal information unless you choose to create an account on our website. Payment and credit card information are never stored by us, and we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
